So today I'm looking at the larger picture of Kansas City and our issue with sprawl. People really like to spread out in KC. The downside is that we become very car dependent. In 2014, the University of Minnesota looked at 47 cities and their "accessibility to jobs by transit." Basically, they asked the question, how likely is it that you could reach a job without a car? Kansas City was 37th out of 47 cities. And when we take public transportation, we walk more (and hopefully breath cleaner air.) We can do better.
